That’s funny – I should have clarified that Kayan’s drink is a lemonade, not a caiparinha. Although he tried his best to get his hands on the alcohol. I’m glad that this post had an impact on you. Brazilian food doesn’t yet have the reputation it deserves so spread the word!

Oh, Diya – of all your posts featuring local food, this is the one that really stopped me in my tracks! What a fabulous experience, I can taste that shrimp from here. BTW, Kayan looks VERY serious about his food choice — dare I say mesmerized?? Too funny.

In reply to Aye. We were amazed by the quality of the sashimi here and are wondering how to fit in a rodizio (all you can eat) sushi meal before we go. We just had Feijaoda last night and it was fabulous. I need to figure out how to make it at home. We are in somewhat of a state of denial that the trip is coming to an end...

Sushi in Brazil is very good!!! I had very good suschi at a few joints in Ipanema and Leblon….Have you had Feijaoda yet?? Can’t believe your journey is almost coming to an end…I have been living vicariously through you for months!!!
